What you have in this CD is a collection of historic speeches made in the US Senate by a cross section of renowned statesmen, among whom are three US Presidents. Besides showcasing the oratory skills of these statesmen, these recordings also provide a first-hand feel of the political turmoil that followed World War I.

Particularly noteworthy are speeches made by US Presidents Warren Harding and Franklin Roosevelt in defense of World War I. You can also listen to Senator Clark Champ and Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Homer S. Cummings as they speak in support of the Democratic Party. On the flip side you have Senator Nicholas M. Butler’s passionate appeal to vote in a Republican Government. Each speech is a masterpiece in itself, regardless of its contents or the political leanings of its maker.

Despite the passage of nearly a century, the audio quality is superb and this is a great example of audio preservation at its best. The printed page would certainly end up second best to these wonderful historic records. A2ZCDS deserve a pat on the back for putting recording technology to the best possible use, giving history buffs a great reason to celebrate.
